Japan and Korea

We flew from Australia direct to Tokyo with Japan Airlines, who were very impressive. I was able to experience Business Class on the way over and Economy Class on the way home. Business Class features fully lie-flat beds, and attentive service with a choice of Japanese or Western menu options. Economy seating is also generous with a 3 – 3 – 3 configuration and generous leg room. The seats in Economy did recline, but unlike with other airlines, I did not feel like my space ....

Tokyo Japan

The busy, electric city of Tokyo still gets me every time I go there, this being my second trip to the magical city. And yet, I still haven’t seen the whole of this massive city! Broken up into wards, each ward brings something different, from shrines and beautiful gardens, to some of the biggest shopping centres I have seen and of course, the busiest crossing in the world. I tried the biggest trend in hotels, the capsule hotel for a week. And for a solo ....

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai is a city and an Emirate, in the United Arab Emirates. The emirate of Dubai is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is one of seven that make up the country. We visited Dubai in January 2013 and stayed for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon, and we loved it. Dubai, has only two seasons, Summer and Winter. Summer starts around mid April. The temperature is around 30-32C till end April. Then it gradually starts increasing. So during June to ....

Palm Springs, USA – Oasis in the Desert

Palm Springs is located about two hours south east of LA. Its basically a resort town in the middle of the desert. In summer the temps get to about 45 degrees with no humidity and in winter to about 20 - 25 degrees during the day and about 6 degrees at night. A ski resort, Big Bear I think it was, is about an hour and a half drive away, so in winter people can ski one day and sun bake the next, then sit ....

Phu Quoc, Vietnam

Cheapest Beach Holiday in World? As we returned from Phu Quoc last Sunday just thought that I would let you know briefly what we encountered. Phu Quoc is a great place for a beach holiday, it is so cheap probably the cheapest place we have ever been to. Eating out at night you can't spend $20 as drinks and seafood are so cheap e.g., beer 70cents,coke 40cents. The resort " La Verandah " was absolutely superb, rated at 4.5 star but the service right throughout ....

Highights of Turkey

When it’s time to seek worldly pleasures, Turkey shines as brightly as its red and white flag. Turkey’s charms range from sun-splashed Mediterranean and Aegean beaches to Sultanahmet’s mosques.  Many of the attractions in Turkey are completely unlike anywhere else on the planet, such as Cappadocia’s fairy chimneys and Pamukkale’s white travertine (calcium carbonate) shelves and pools. The ethereal beauty of Mt Nemrut, and Olympos, where Lycian ruins peek from the undergrowth, is quintessentially Turkish. Best time to travel Spring (April to May) and autumn ....

Hawaii

The overwhelming sense that I’ve come home hits me every time I arrive into Honolulu. From the tropical heat that engulfs you as you walk off the plane, the Wiki Wiki bus that whisks you off to the terminal as you arrive, to all the friendly Aloha’s and Mahalo’s you hear everywhere you go, make Hawaii the great place that it is today. A visit for me to the Hawaiian Islands isn’t complete however, without having a meal or a drink at the absolute beachfront ....
