Cheapest Beach Holiday in World?
As we returned from Phu Quoc last Sunday just thought that I would let you know briefly what we encountered.
Phu Quoc is a great place for a beach holiday, it is so cheap probably the cheapest place we have ever been to. Eating out at night you can’t spend $20 as drinks and seafood are so cheap e.g., beer 70cents,coke 40cents.
The resort ” La Verandah ” was absolutely superb, rated at 4.5 star but the service right throughout the whole hotel was as good as any hotel we have ever stayed at. It was located right on the beach and is only a small establishment with 42 rooms, fantastic pool area and superb meals with an upstairs restaurant that looked out over the beach.
The international airport on Phu Quoc is still under construction probably another 6 months before completion. There are a lot half completed resorts on the island, as it is a very laid back place nothing happens real quick. Some of the roads on the island out of the town are still being built in anticipation of an influx of more tourists but they have a long way to go.
It is fantastic place to visit, the locals are very friendly and a lot of cheap restaurants on the beach. There seemed to be more European tourists than anything else.
